Challenge response systems used in isolation are notoriously unsuccessful with as little as 40 per cent of genuine email getting through the system as senders are reluctant to go through the challenge system. The difference with Network Box’s eMail Relationship Manager is that it analyses and learns from the behaviour of the sender and recipient of an email to give a score to the email which is applied in addition to traditional anti-spam filter analysis.

Rudder Exposes Hundreds of Accounts to thers

Rudder provides its clients with daily e-mail summaries of their account activity – transactions and account balances. The company has “read-only” access to this information and is not privy to bank account numbers or passwords chief financial officer Nikunj Somaiya said in an interview. Many of these e-mails were getting caught in Yahoo’s spam filter so Rudder added a digital signature to prevent them from being trashed Somaiya said. But “due to a bug” these e-mails were grouped together and sent out as a whole rather than individually he said. “User one got user one’s email but user two got user two and user one’s email and so on” Somaiya said. The glitch affected 732 users or about 3 percent of Rudder users. It affected people whose e-mail address started with a number or the letters “a” or “b” Somaiya said.

While you may not be infected with the Conficker worm most (if not all) spamming done these days are a result of a Trojan or worm infection. For this I recommend Spyware Doctor with Antivirus as it many layers of protection and is (in my opinion) one of the most complete most reasonably priced package available on the market. If your PC is particularly old or slow to begin with Spyware Doctor’s *active* scanning protection may simply be too much for your PC to handle. This will save on CPU and memory usage.
